NYC, Baby! – Part Two

The next morning was dedicated to finding Starbucks, heading to Kleinfeld’s, and officially kicking off the wedding dress search. It was so much fun to be with her as she tried on dresses, never mind the fact it was pretty awesome being in the same store/seeing the same stylists that I’ve seen so many times on TV. I won’t go into too many details on our Kleinfeld’s experience but I will say that Yes, she did find Her Dress :).

EatalyAs is the norm after any big life decision is made, the next course of action was to get some drinks. We stumbled upon a tapas place and when we sat down, the Bride’s future Mother-in-Law informed us she ordered a bottle of prosecco for the table, because “As we know, orange juice is just empty calories.” Utterly fabulous.

After enjoying some snacks, the bottle of bubbles along with an additional cocktail or two, we decided to continue our NYC food tour and do some shopping. By the time we got back to the hotel, our wallets were a little lighter and our hands a little fuller with our purchases. It was time to get fancy for drinks at The Champagne Bar in The Plaza Hotel.

Once I learned about the trip to New York, I made a general reservation because I thought it would be something extra special to celebrate the weekend. And special, it was. The hotel is beautiful and it was fun to sit back with a (baby) bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rose while enjoying the overall ambiance.

Having indulged in this little happy hour of sorts, we moved on to dinner at Quality Italian. This restaurant was recommended by our waiter at The Plaza and I’m so glad he pointed us in this direction. The food was out of this world. There wasn’t a crumb left on any of our
plates or a drop of wine in any glass. I had the Dry-Aged Porterhouse Agnolotti and practically licked the bowl clean. Uh-ma-zinggg.Cheesecake

The next day, we had only one thing left that we absolutely had to do before heading to the airport – Eat a piece of New York Cheesecake. It did not disappoint.

This was my first weekend trip to New York and I would say we did it up right.
