I feel like I blinked in April and I when my eyes opened again it was September. The last several months have been a whirlwind of absolute wonderful craziness and things now seem like they are falling back to normal…or at least our new ‘normal’.
Even though we fell asleep pretty early on our first night in France, neither the Firefighter or I wanted to wake up the next morning. After forcing ourselves to get moving, we grabbed breakfast at the hotel since “continental breakfast”was included in our price. The Firefighter was impressed with Europe’s version of a continental breakfast because it included various sliced meats, small pickles, breads, cheeses and the like. Personally, I was happy because Nutella is always a given with breakfast and what’s not to like about that?
Moving into our house wasn’t the only big project that I was planning for during March – One week after the Firefighter and I closed on our house, I hopped on a plane heading to NYC for my best friends bachelorette party. We both fell in love with the city during our visit back in August and neither of us could wait to go back to celebrate her bachelorette. Continue reading BFF’s NYC Bachelorette Party: Part 1
The Firefighter and I knew that we wanted to go on a pretty amazing trip for our honeymoon, which is why we didn’t take off immediately after our wedding. Waiting until the fall allowed us to recover from all of the wedding craziness and also gave us something to look forward to in the interim.
The Firefighter had never been overseas before, so my goal while planning the itinerary was to try and see as much as possible within about a two-week time period. We decided to start off with a week-long Mediterranean cruise, embarking in Marseille and making stops in Barcelona, Naples, Florence, Rome and Cannes, and spending a couple of days in Paris and London. From start to finish it was a total of 16 days.
The next morning was dedicated to finding Starbucks, heading to Kleinfeld’s, and officially kicking off the wedding dress search. It was so much fun to be with her as she tried on dresses, never mind the fact it was pretty awesome being in the same store/seeing the same stylists that I’ve seen so many times on TV. I won’t go into too many details on our Kleinfeld’s experience but I will say that Yes, she did find Her Dress :).
One of my best friends is marrying the love of her life next summer and as a current New Englander, she wanted to kick off her wedding dress search at the Wedding Dress Mecca of the U.S. – Kleinfeld Bridal. As her Maid (I refuse to be a ‘Matron’ at the age of 27) of Honor, there was no way I was going to miss out on this milestone with her. Last week I hopped on a plane and met her in NYC.
